Bunker | Starring Javier Bardem & Penélope Cruz: story and trailer overview
The story
Miguel, a successful London architect, is offered a high-profile commission to build a survivalist bunker for a tech billionaire. His decision strains a 17-year marriage with Sofia as their lives are pulled into extreme wealth, mounting paranoia, and fear, while a disturbing neighbor exacerbates their anxieties.
Why it works
The film frames material ambition against domestic vulnerability, exploring how luxury and security projects can corrode trust and intimacy. Emotional and moral consequences drive the tension, with the couple’s relationship serving as the lens for broader social unease.
What to expect
We expect intimate, mounting psychological pressure rather than action set-pieces, with scenes likely focusing on relationship fractures, ethical tension around the bunker project, and the neighbor’s unsettling role as a catalyst for fear.
Our take
For us, Bunker promises a thoughtful, character-driven psychological thriller that studies wealth, paranoia, and marital strain.
