Trailer analysis
Why it works
A suburban teen-crime premise gains force from the gap between an ordinary setting and extreme choices. Family conflict makes the danger personal rather than remote. The attraction is the pressure within that contrast: a recognizable social world becomes the setting for a much darker moral problem.
Historical context
Released in 2000 and directed by Rob Schmidt, this crime drama centers on teenagers and a troubled suburban family. Its title signals a moral-crime framework rather than a conventional school romance.
Verdict
The strongest hook is the darkness beneath an apparently ordinary teenage world.
