AmericanPsycho asked:
Many movie trailers today give away too much of the plot. This angers most people. Movie trailers (especially more mystery movies should leave lots of ambiguity) Are the movie trailer makers of today’s world not as savy as the ones of day’s old?

actually a lot of directors can make a great trailer, but bad movies…case in point: Eli Roth. check out his “Thanksgiving” trailer in grindhouse.

I personally like a little more show. It pumps me up to actually wanting to see the movie. However, I do hate movie that they know it’s going to suck so, they would show all the good stuff in the trailer. leaving you nothing to see in the theater.

Less savvy and more direct to pull in the crowds.
When you make a $100,000,000, you don’t want to leave anything to chance

I think it depends on how strong a film it is. Unfortunately, in this day and age, most releases are so bad they do what they can to get people in.
Two of the best trailers I’ve seen were the 1989 Batman and ID4.
